Service Dog Training & Real-World Public Access Training
Beyond Obedience: Building Reliable, Working Partnerships for Everyday Life
A true service dog is more than well-behaved, they are an indispensable lifeline, an extension of their handler, and unflappable in unpredictable public spaces.
At Del Dog Training, we take an evidence-based, handler-centric approach to service dog training and public access training. Whether you are owner-training a prospect from puppyhood or refining specialized tasks and public neutrality, we guide the team every step of the way with clarity, ethics, and unwavering standards with our custom in-home dog training programs.
What Makes Our Approach Different?
We know that real life happens in grocery aisles, crowded transit hubs, restaurants, and medical waiting rooms which is why our program will focus on:
Environmental Neutrality: Teaching your dog that distractions such as dropped food, barking pets, sudden loud noises, or hovering crowds are simply background noise, not invitations to interact.
Low-Arousal Task Performance: Reliable alerts, grounding, and tasking under physiological stress and sensory overload.
Dog Evaluations: Ensuring your canine partner is confident, physically sound, and mentally enjoying their working role, we never put a dog through the service dog training program unless we believe they will make an exceptional service dog. Keep in mind that not every dog will make a good service canidate.
